
Colorado’s First Triple-Digit Heatwave Is Coming This Week
Summer is almost officially here in Northern Colorado, and if you love the hot weather, Mother Nature is bringing the heat to you later this week.
Embracing the Coming Heatwave in Northern Colorado
We've seen warmer temperatures over the last week or so, but soon, it will be downright hot in Colorado. It is so hot that the National Weather Service is saying that we can see temperatures in the triple digits for the first day of summer.

Summer means being outdoors as much as you possibly can; however, 100-degree heat isn't fun for anyone. Sure, it's a "dry" heat, but temperatures that high are just miserable to be doing anything in.

Forecasted highs in Northern Colorado bring in the heat starting Thursday, June 19, with a high of 96 degrees. Friday, June 20, and Saturday, June 21, highs in Northern Colorado are expected to be 100 degrees.
June 19–21 Outlook: Timeline for the Heat Surge
The Weather Channel is forecasting even higher temperatures, reaching 103 degrees for a high on Friday. If these temperatures do get to the triple digits by the end of this week, it appears as if we are in for quite the hot summer in Colorado this year.
The National Weather Service in Pueblo, Colorado, has issued a red flag warning for all of the western counties in Colorado due to wind gusts up to 35 miles per hour and relative humidity being very low.

With summer temperatures being so high to start the season, many are concerned about wildfires in the Rocky Mountains. The lack of rain and high temperatures make the conditions ideal for a forest fire. Here's to hoping that those devastating fires never happen yet again in Colorado.
