CO Guy is Accidentally Released from Jail… So Wife Makes Him Go Back
38-year-old James Rynerson was in jail in Grand Junction last month for menacing, disorderly conduct, and trespassing - and he was waiting for his trial. Well, the sheriff's deputies got him confused with another inmate, and they let him out early.
He never bothered to correct them, even when they called him by the other guy's name. (Would you?) He even signed that guy's name on the exit paperwork.
Next, James headed home to surprise his wife. And she responded by forcing him to go back to jail. She even drove him back there herself.
He was only out of jail for about two hours altogether.
Now, he's facing a bunch of new charges, including escape, forgery, criminal impersonation, and theft.
If there is a bright side, the sheriff's department says that thanks to his wife, it didn't turn into an even more serious situation for James.
While we're reading this, there's another inmate who went through the exact opposite scenario, being surprised when he didn't get let out, then later in the day he was presumably let free. But the happy stories never seem to be the more interesting ones, right?
