Finding care for your children is something many parents stress about, and it often will keep them up at night trying to figure out who they trust with their kids, if they can afford it, and what to do about childcare. Finding someone to care for your children or a daycare you can afford and trust is a journey, and for parents who have to deal with it, they know it is one of the most stressful times of parenting. No parent wants to leave their kids with someone else, but sadly, most of us have to work and make this tough choice. Childcare isn't cheap, especially in Colorado, but is the Centennial State the most expensive for childcare in the country?
The Most Expensive States For Childcare

For parents who have to find childcare, they count down the days until their little ones start school to stop having to pay that bill and have a little bit more money. Kids are expensive, but especially when you need to pay for daycare, a babysitter, or a nanny. WalletHub recently released a list ranking the most expensive to the least expensive states for child care, and the most expensive state according to the study is shockingly Nebraska, with California being the second most expensive, and New York rounding out the top three. The cheapest state for child care is Mississippi, with South Dakota being the second cheapest, and Alabama rounding out the bottom three. Where does Colorado fall on this list?
How Expensive is Childcare in Colorado?

Childcare in Colorado isn't cheap. For any parent in the state who needs childcare, they know that it can be tough to afford childcare, but surprisingly, Colorado is not among the top five states, or even the top ten states, when it comes to cost. Colorado is the 15th highest state when it comes to childcare for married couples, and is 20th when it comes to single-parent families. The study takes into account the median annual income and the percentage of that used on childcare for center care and for family care. In Colorado, a married couple spends, on average, 9.1% of their income on family-based childcare and 12.06% on center-based childcare. A single parent spends, on average, 27.4% on family-based childcare and 36.33% on center-based childcare.
