Pat Gustafson has been a friend of ours for over a decade through Cheyenne Frontier Days. Pat is the volunteer who organizes the Party Zone that Brian and I get to host every year in Cheyenne. She is one of kindest people I have ever had the chance to work with, but I really had no Idea how big her heart was until I read about her volunteer efforts in Nepal with Team Rubicon following the earthquake that killed over 9,000 people.

Team Rubicon USA is an organization that "Unites the skills and experiences of military veterans with first responders to rapidly deploy emergency response teams." Pat told me she has served on many missions with Team Rubicon, including: Moore, Oklahoma, after a tornado, the floods in Illinois, an Arkansas tornado, Hurricane Sandy in New York, a typhoon in the Philippines, Fires in Wyoming, and the flood in Lyons, Colorado.

Pat said on their trip to Nepal, they hiked into remote villages, camped there, and provided medical care and helped the people dig out from the rubble. These pictures give you an idea of what it was like there.
