One of my favorite and in my opinion underrated country singers over the past couple of decades is Tracy Byrd. Tracy started making hits in the early 90’s and for the last several years has stepped out of the spotlight to raise his 3 children and enjoy life on the ranch in Beaumont, Texas.

Today is Tracy’s 49th birthday. I started thinking about all the hits he had and it is such an impressive list. When my wife and I renewed out vows years ago we used his big hit “Keeper of the Stars” as part of the service. I would say 10-20% of weddings in the 90’s may have had this song involved in the ceremony. Tracy just has that real, true, pure effortless country voice. He could sing a beautiful ballad like “Keeper of the Stars” or "Heaven in My Woman's Eyes" and then do a party anthem like “Ten Rounds With Jose Cuervo”. I don't think guys like Tracy, Clay Walker and Tracy Lawrence get the credit they deserve for all the great songs they recorded and what they have done for the format.

Enjoy the family and thanks for all the hits Tracy…and Happy Birthday from your fans in Northern Colorado. Here is a six pack of my favorites from Tracy.
