The shopping mecca for outdoors gear will be within an hour's drive come NEXT YEAR!

If you love hiking, hunting, fishing, boating and all the other stuff you can do out of doors-

You'll want to be FIRST in line when the new Cabela's opens!

Find out where - and when-- inside!

Anytime a new Cabela's opening for an outdoorsman must be comparable to when a musician hears about a Guitar Center opening somewhere.   It's music to both sets of ears- -especially when one opens

up close to home!  Cabela's has been around forever; I remember friends taking yearly trips to Nebraska- because that's where the nearest one was!  I thought it was crazy- to go that far.  But when you are avid about your outdoor sports and/or activities, distance doesn't matter when it comes to the near tourist attraction square footage of Cabela's locations.

Even with one location in Colorado- you would still have to travel to Nebraska to get to the closest Cabela's- the headquarters one in Sidney, Nebraska.  UNTIL-- they open up two NEW locations for Colorado-- one in Lone Tree, the other in THORNTONCabela's opened their first Colorado store just about two years ago at the Mesa Mall in Grand Junction.  That's a great location- for the Western Slope of Colorado.  What about Northern Colorado and the I-25 corridor?  Soon... Soon- they will open!

Cabela's announced just the other day that they will break ground on the two new locations this fall.

From The Associated Press:

“Because of the longstanding loyalty of our customers in the Centennial State, the abundance of outdoor opportunities across the region and Denver’s proximity to Cabela’s headquarters, it’s the perfect situation to open two stores,” said Cabela’s Chief Executive Officer Tommy Millner. “This is the first time we’ve simultaneously announced two stores in the same metropolitan area so that says a lot about how we feel about the Denver area. It’s a landmark day.”

The Lone Tree location will be about 110,000 square feet south of Park Meadows Mall. The Thornton location will be around 90,000 square feet- in a soon to be established shopping complex along I-25 at 144th (that alone is good news!)- both should be open in early 2013.

Then, instead of driving all the way to Sidney, or planning a road trip to Grand Junction- you'll be able to just pop down I-25 to Thornton!  That's EASY.

Maybe too easy- if you're an outdoors enthusiast, maybe you'll still want to put some effort into getting your supplies.  Your call.
