The Denver Broncos have decided not to exercise their $1.5 million option on safety Kareem Jackson with a guarantee of a $10 million salary. This moves Jackson to free agency after two seasons with the Denver Broncos, according to 9 News.

This comes after the Denver Broncos attempted a contract restructure for Jackson. Jackson reportedly declined the pay cut. There is a possibility that Kareem Jackson could re-sign with the Denver Broncos at a lower rate, but sources are saying that this scenario is not likely.

9 News has also reported that fan favorite and Denver native, Phillip Linsday, has also been sent to free agency. Other NFL teams can now submit an offer for Lindsay without having to release a draft pick in return for the player.

The Denver Broncos General Manager, George Paton, has told Lindsay that the Denver Broncos would only offer him a low or original round offer worth $2.8 million.

The news for running back Phillip Linsday means that he can receive multiple offers that could be multi-year contracts from opposing teams. The Denver Broncos will have the right to match any offer that is signed by Phillip Lindsay. However, it is unclear if the Broncos will follow through on that.
