When I lived outside of Colorado for a handful of years, there was no other place that I wanted to be than back home in the Centennial State. Colorado is a very special place to me, and no other state compares to how it makes me feel.

The only other state that even came close was Oregon, where I lived in the past was Oregon. That is mainly in part due to the Pacific Northwest being part of the western United States.

Out of all of the regions, one could say that the western part of the United States is far superior to anywhere else if you love the outdoors and the mountains. Recently, Livability ranked the best places to live in the West, and wouldn't you know it, four Colorado cities made the top 10 list.

Northern Colorado Cities Make the List

Two Northern Colorado cities ranked in the top 10, with Loveland at number seven and Fort Collins at number four. Castle Rock ranked fifth on the list, too. However, there is one more Colorado town that ranked as the best place to live in the West.

Coming in at the top spot to live in the west, beating out cities like Millings, Montana, Salt Lake City, Meridian, Idaho, and Beaverton, Oregon, is Broomfield, Colorado. Broomfield ranked number one based on great schools, excellent health care options, outdoor recreation, and a thriving job market.
