Berthoud First In State To Ban Puppy Mills
On Tuesday, the town counsel of Berthoud became the first city in Colorado to ban puppy mills within in the city limits.
Pet shops are no longer allowed to sell, barter, or auction dogs raised in puppy mills.
The legislation originated from a story out of Oklahoma where a Chihuahua named "Harley" lost one of his eyes at a puppy mill before being rescued.
Dan Taylor told Fox 31:
“[Dogs] make us better people, they make me a better person.”
