Northern Colorado Beach Will Permanently Close Due to Budget Cuts
Unfortunately, a Northern Colorado beach beloved by the community will not be open next season due to budget cuts. The city of Loveland has rolled out various budget cuts and many local government resources will not have the support it once was.
It is a sad reality that many areas and organizations will have less. For example, the Chilson Recreation Center, Loveland Museum, and Loveland Public Library will now have reduced hours. The Loveland Museum will have higher entry fees, according to a new report by CBS.
Loveland Beach Now Closed
CBS reports that the city of Loveland is having a multi-million budget cut. This budget cut also impacts Lake Loveland Swim Beach.
Lake Loveland Swim Beach, located on North Taft Ave is permanently closed. The beach is owned by the city of Loveland and the city says they can no longer support it due to expenses.
Dividers to Be Added to Area in Loveland
We imagine a large portion of those expenses were employing lifeguards. The city plans to add boulders that will act as a barrier so nobody will have access to Lake Loveland Swim Beach.

The city of Loveland noted that the cost of the boulders is $20,000. The city says that Northern Coloradans can still swim at Chilson Recreation Center and Winona Outdoor Pool.
As we mentioned earlier, Chilson Recreation Center now has reduced hours. We are curious to see what the summer hours will be.
