This could have been much, much worse. A balcony collapsed on a three-story apartment complex in Greeley yesterday, sending three people to the hospital.

Greeley Fire Department responded to the collapse in the 1100 block of 26th Ave.  Seven people were involved in the collapse.  Three people were taken by Banner Ambulance to the hospital with minor injuries.

The apartment complex was three stories tall with a single column of wood balconies on the second and third levels.  It was unclear which floor balcony collapsed first as the second floor balcony supported the third.

The cause of the collapse is still under investigation.
