The Hewlett Fire, burning since Monday iin the Poudre Canyon, is now 85% contained. All evacuations and the Highway 14 road closure were lifted as of 7 pm Friday. Everyone is reminded that there is still fire burning, and to expect firefighters and firefighting equipment in the area. Drive slowly; watch out.

The Hewlett Fire northwest of Fort Collins in the Poudre Canyon is now 7,300 acres. Meanwhile, the Larimer County Sheriff’s Office has lifted a mandatory evacuation order for 65 homes in the area of Bonner Springs Ranch Road, Deer Valley Road, Obenchain Road, Ingleside Road.
