The Hewlett Fire, burning since Monday iin the Poudre Canyon, is now 85% contained. All evacuations and the Highway 14 road closure were lifted as of 7 pm Friday. The Hewlett Fire northwest of Fort Collins in the Poudre Canyon is now 7,300 acres. Meanwhile, the Larimer County Sheriff’s Office has lifted a mandatory evacuation order for 65 homes in the area of Bonner Springs Ranch Road, Deer Valley Road, Obenchain Road, Ingleside Road. The Larimer County Sheriff’s Office has been notified of increased activity of door-to-door magazine salesmen in the Town of Wellington. Salesmen must have a Peddler’s License issued by the Town of Wellington. If you believe someone is a legitimate salesperson, they should have no problem with you requesting to see their license.
