Argument Over Dog Poop Leads to Stabbing
A conversation about dog poop got heated in West Fort Collins last week. So heated that the argument ended in a stabbing. The incident occurred on the afternoon of April 5th in the 2200 block of West Mulberry Street.
Two men were involved, Cody McGovern, 22, and his neighbor, James Morris, 61. McGovern states that Morris threatened to call the property management company over the fecal matter. McGovern thought that his 61-year-old neighbor was going to attempt to fight him and that is when he went into his home and came back with a pocket knife. He said when Morris ran at him, he brandished the knife and ended up stabbing him in the leg.
McGovern was arrested on suspicion of third-degree assault, which is a class 3 felony. Morris was taken to Medical Center of the Rockies for treatment for the wounds received during the altercation.
