Another Starbucks Closes Shop In Fort Collins
Getting your coffee fix in the Choice City isn't entirely a challenge, but as of today, there's one less coffee shop to choose from.
As per reports via the Coloradoan, the Fort Collins Starbucks located at 250 E. Harmony Road, which sits just west of John F. Kennedy Parkway, officially closed its doors as of the end of the day on Monday, March 1.
According to QuerySprout, back in 2020, Starbucks Coffee officials announced that the corporation would be closing 600 stores across North America over the following year and a half.
However, the closings were to be - and still will be - exceeded by opening new locations that are expected to perform better; the new Starbucks locations are intended to reflect the shift in customer behavior as of recent. As such, the new locations will primarily consist of drive-thrus and to-go stores and counters.
"As difficult as this was, we must make the right business decisions for the sake of Starbucks' long-term growth," a spokesperson for the E. Harmony Starbucks said in a statement emailed to the Coloradoan on Tuesday, March 1.
The decision to close this particular location came as part of Starbucks' "standard course of business," the spokesperson told the Coloradoan, noting that it continually evaluates its business "to ensure a healthy store portfolio."
According to the Coloradoan, the closing of this particular Starbucks location marks at least the second Fort Collins Starbucks to close over the course of the last few years; in the Spring of 2020, the ultra-popular coffee chain closed its Campus West location (formerly at 1335 W. Elizabeth St.).
Since then, Starbucks has taken the place of a former Burger King in Midtown Fort Collins; that drive-thru location at 4218 S. College Ave. has been open for business since last summer.
