Alec Baldwin is making an extremely rare appearance as he is set to be in Boulder for the International Film Festival on March 5th at the Boulder Theater.

This will be one of his first appearances since the tragic and fatal accident where he shot and killed cinematographer Halyna Hutchins and wounded director Joel Souza on the New Mexico set of the movie "Rust."

The Santa Fe County Sheriff's Office continues to investigate the shooting, and no criminal charges have been filed, according to reports. Though Deadline reported last week that a wrongful death lawsuit may be in the works.

Baldwin previously was a guest at BIFF in 2010, has selected three films that have influenced him, and after those films are shown, will conduct a Q&A .

Not everyone is thrilled to see Baldwin in Boulder though...

So yeah...not everyone is thrilled about Alec Baldwin coming to Boulder and that's certainly understandable considering the circumstances.

Additionally, A "Conversation With Alec Baldwin" will take place at 6 p.m. on March 5 at the Boulder Theater, as Baldwin will be interviewed by BIFF Special Event Producer Ron Bostwick.

Kathy Beeck, who is the festival director had this to say about Baldwin being a part of the event:

"We're honored that this year Alec will be taking on this important role and sharing some of his favorite films with BIFF, "Alec is a friend of the festival and very knowledgeable about film."

Tickets for "A Conversation With Alec Baldwin" currently are on sale on the BIFF website. They are $60, but free for festival pass holders.
