9th Annual 9-11 Flight Crew Memorial Motorcycle Ride in August Is A Ride Like No Other
Ride 911 is a ride I have never done, till this year. The ride honors the fallen hero's and flight crews of September 11th, 2001. It's a very unique ride and one you can count me in for and I hope many of you will join me.
This years ride takes place on Saturday August 24th and will leave from the Colorado National Speedway in Erie (4281 County Road 10). If you are going to ride you need to be at the track by 2 PM to get signed and lined up. The ride will leave at 2:30 PM on the nose.
The hospitality section will be open for riders to watch the race cars do practice "hot" laps until the ride leaves.
The ride is about 100 miles and you need to make sure your topped off as the ride does not and will not stop. The ride is about 2 1/2 hours and will head West going up one of my favorite canyons; Left Hand Canyon. The ride continues across the Peak to Peak and then down Hwy 7 into Lyons before making it's way back to Colorado National Speedway.
Once the ride returns to the track riders will line up right outside the pits and around 5:45 PM everyone will ride onto the race track and run 3-4 laps then line up on the infield in front of the Grand stands. The presentation of Flags and a tribute speech honoring the hero's we lost on Sept 11th, 2001 will complete the ride day events.
Your registration fee of $20 rider/$15 passenger includes: Food (Hamburger / Hot Dog and Chips), a drink (Non-Alcoholic beverage only), a 2013 Ride 9-11 Pin for the first 150 riders and admission to the race which you can watch from the hospitality area.
