Winter will be here sooner than you know it, which means you may have already started planning a vacation. How about a destination that focuses on sledding and snow tubing?

One of the many great things about the state of Colorado is that there are locations throughout the state that provide great sledding and tubing opportunities while the snow is on the ground.

Some of them are a short driving distance away, while others you may need to do some vacation planning to be able to take advantage of it. Either way, we think this should be the season that you escape with your snow pants and gloves to enjoy the thrill of heading down on a tube.

Here are five locations in the state that we think you should check out this winter! Have any other locations you want to add in? Let us know!

    Copper Mountain Tubing

Copper Mountain is one of the best spots in the state to jump on a tube and go as fast as you can down a groomed hill. The hill is open to all ages, and right now they tentatively plan on opening December 15th and hopefully stay open until April, 2018. Tubing sessions last one hour.

Snow Mountain Ranch and Tubing Hill - Winter Park

This tubing hill is run by the YMCA of the Rockies, and is one of the most affordable hills in the state. Keep in mind that they don't have a tow rope or platform taking you to the top to go back down. You have to do it all on foot. But your entire family will enjoy the fun that it brings! Plus, they also offer tubing in the summer! You have to try it out!

    Frisco Adventure Park

The Frisco Adventure Park offers a tubing hill that they hope to open on Thanksgiving Day this year, but make sure you try to make a reservation as they will start taking those on October 2nd. There is a lift that will take you to the top of the hill, and then you have a chance to slide down one of the 1200 foot tubing lanes!

Beaver Meadows Resort Ranch - Red Feather Lakes

The Beaver Meadows Resort Ranch offers 12 runs for all different skill levels, including the EXTREME skill level! They have a hill that is just for the kids, and you can get in MANY runs every hour. That is a major plus in itself!

    Aspen Snowmass Tubing

The tubing occurs on the Snowmass side of Aspen Snowmass, with multiple lanes that are staged near the Meadows at Elk Camp. They also have special events that occur throughout the year where you can also tube under the lights at night. That's awesome!
