If you need assistance or if you get lost, first try to call 911, but if there is not enough cell coverage, try texting 911. If you are on a trail or road, stay on the trail or road, that will help search and rescuers find you, according to the Boulder County Sheriff's Office.

Boulder County search and rescues are free, with the exception of use of an ambulance.
