Loveland Fire Rescue Authority (LFRA) crews rescued 5 children from the Big Thompson River yesterday, Thursday July 25th.

No one was injured after before or after the rescue.

LFRA was dispatched at 4:24 p.m. to Fairgrounds Park because there was a report that a group went tubing downstream but had been gone without being seen for a while.

The group was rescued half of the group at 4:51 p.m. and then the others at 4:59 p.m. roughly 300 yards west of South Boise Avenue near Boise Bend Natural Area.

The tubes the group had been using though were not found.

All five children were taken back to their parents at the Fairgrounds Park by a Thompson Valley EMS ambulance.
