Just about every day in country music history is the anniversary of something amazing that George Strait has done. He is and always will be, the reigning King of Country. There is no better example of class than Mr. Strait.

It was 25 years ago today, back in 1992, that MCA released one of my favorite George albums of all time. The soundtrack to George’s big screen debut, “Pure Country” hit the store shelves 25 years ago. Hard to believe it has been a quarter of century since we saw George in a ponytail and beard and mustache, playing the part of Dusty Chandler.

I am pretty sure I wore out the album, cassette and CD of that release. Every song is keeper. Here are a few of my favorites. Thanks George... or Dusty.
