Watch: The 2026 Cake War in Loveland Was a Success
Have you ever had a food fight before? How many times, growing up, did you dream about throwing food at someone but were scared of the consequences or having to clean it up afterward? Did you ever dream about taking a cake and slamming it into someone's face, covering them in frosting? This past weekend, people in Loveland, Colorado, gathered to throw cake at each other, and if you weren't there, you missed out on a fun time.

The cake war was started by twins Arryk and Alaska back on Father's Day in 2024 and originally had 15 people participating. In 2025, the event grew to 42 participants, and this past weekend there were over 50 people throwing cake at each other in the park. The event is growing, and the hope is that next year there will be even more people, more cakes, and perhaps a potential sponsor. It is a great way to meet new people in the community, as nothing brings people closer than smashing a cake in their face or throwing cupcakes at someone you met minutes before. There are discussions to hold potentially two events per year moving forward, but that is yet to be determined.
