The 17th Annual 28 Hours of Hope was the most successful event we have ever done. It wasn't just the $130,000 raised by the wonderful K99 listeners by the end of the 28 Hours to benefit a Kid's Place, Namaqua Center, and the Larimer County Child Advocacy Center.  It was Shelby telling her story of abuse and triumph over that abuse.  It was Diana, who raised nearly 1,600 crocheting an afghan for us. It was 12-year-old Chance raising $1,900 on his own. It was the Wellington kids raising over $2500.   It was Bob sharing a horrible secret that he kept  bottled up inside him for 38 years. It was over 45 stars from Nashville who called in to lend their support. It was all of the volunteers who gave of themselves to insure that our 28 Hours of Hope would be a success.

A big thank you to Justin and Jill who worked side-by-side with Brian and me to plan and execute this event.  Thanks to our boss Pat who allows us to take over the radio station for over a day.  Thanks to Zandi and the entire K99 sales team who encouraged our business partners in the community to give tens of thousands of dollars to the 28 Hours. Thanks to everyone who answered phones for us and the overnight team who keeps us awake every year. Thanks to everyone who kept us fed during the event and we were fed well.  A special thank you to Chris, who teamed up with Jill to keep a running total of the contributions and keeps track of all of the money as it comes in during the year. Thanks to Jordan for taking pictures and for staying up with us all 28 Hours to make sure the K99 Website was updated for the entire event. Most of all, thank you to my radio partner of 27 years, Brian Gary, for being the heart and soul of the 28 Hours of Hope. With out him, the event doesn't exist.
