Put yourself in the seat of being an "NFL Lazy Boy GM" today. If you were asked the question, "Would You Trade Peyton Manning", would you?

In a recent article courtesy of SI.COM, they talk about the rumor concerning how Manning was almost traded to the Houston Texans this off-season and how the thought of trading Manning isn't that crazy.

One of the big reasons of why a Manning trade needs to at least be discussed? Well it's no secret to anyone that Manning is getting up in age and he is nearing the end of his current deal with the Broncos. GM's across the NFL are saying that the Broncos need to at least entertain the possibility of trading their star quarterback and start building for a future without Peyton.

Is Brock Osweiler the answer? We don't know. We probably won't know until he gets more than a few snaps in the regular season.

As the article states, Manning has a "no trade clause" in the extension that he negotiated back in March. But we all know that those can be negotiated as well. If the Broncos want to throw some extra coin Peytons way to back out of that clause, he may just take it. Especially if there is a team out there that is willing to have Peyton be their quarterback past the 2015-2016 season.

No one has confirmed that there were actually trade talks with the Texans during the offseason. But we know how the saying goes. Where there is smoke...there is fire. And the team may be willing to explore more with Brock Osweiler than they have in years past.

If that's the case...maybe there is a chance that Peyton is not the starting QB for the Broncos when the season starts in September.

Or maybe he'll prove all of his detractors wrong once again, and win another 12 games while marching towards the Super Bowl.

This could get very interesting.
