Workers Injured in Loveland Explosion
A diesel tank exploded at a Loveland sand-and-gravel company on Monday afternoon, injuring two workers. The explosion was at Jake Kauffman & Son Inc. on County Road 9E. Workers were either cutting or welding a large diesel fuel tank, which still contained residual fuel that exploded.
One worker was transported by ambulance to the Medical Center of the Rockies, and the second worker drove himself there. Both had facial trauma. Fire officials are still investigating the cause of the explosion.
