There’s no way of knowing where they were coming from, where they were headed; why she was in the back while he drove.  Not even any details on the other car that was involved.

They were heading westbound on Hwy 34. Maybe they were headed home after seeing family and friends for the holiday. Maybe, he had gone to pick her up in Kansas to bring her back FOR Christmas. Whatever their travel reasons, the two in the car did not make their destination, as Weld County saw another fatal accident- this one on Christmas Day.

It was almost 4:45 in the afternoon. Snow was probably falling, but there isn't any report of weather being a factor in the crash. Driving the car was 78 year-old Harold Clem of Loveland. His passenger, in the back seat, was 38 year-old Kreston Babcock of Greeley. Their car crashed into another car on Hwy 34, about 15 miles east of Kersey, both were pronounced dead on the scene.

Not very many details; there’s no way of knowing where they were coming from, where they were headed, or why she was in the back while he drove. Not even any details on the other car that was involved.

One detail though: With this latest, tragic accident Weld County’s roads have now seen 52 fatalities for 2014.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to the families of Harold and Kreston.
