It's hard to believe that it's already September and that we will soon be headed into the holiday season. With that in mind the Windsor Food Pantry, run by Faith United Church of Christ, is in a dire situation headed into one of the busiest times of year. The shelves are almost empty and the food bank is nearing a point where they will no longer be able to assist families in need.

Director of the Food Pantry, Brenda Heckman, says...

We do not have enough [food] to pack boxes to give out to families and individuals requesting help. I have been purchasing food but it doesn't stay on the shelves very long."

Given the situation Heckman is asking the community to jump in and help so that they can continue to serve the 12-19 families that need assistance each week. Here is a list of the food items that the pantry currently needs:

Canned Tuna
Canned Fruit
Spaghetti Sauce
Canned or Instant Potatoes
Cereal
Crackers
Cooking Oil
5 Ib. Bags of Flour/Sugar
Canned or Powdered Milk
Canned Tomatoes

Canned Beans
