Wildfire Danger High To Extreme In Northern Colorado

Due to temperatures in the 90s, gusty winds, low humidity, and very dry conditions; the Rocky Mountain Area Coordination Center is forecasting ‘High to Extreme Fire Danger’ for Northern Colorado and Southern Wyoming. Extreme conditions exist in the northeast Colorado plains, with high danger forecast for the Front Range.
The Rocky Mountain Area Coordination Group establishes Preparedness Levels throughout the calendar year to help assure that firefighting resources are ready to respond to new incidents. Preparedness Levels are dictated by burning conditions, fire activity, and resource availability.
