It wasn't lingering fog that Coloradoans were seeing Tuesday morning on their commutes to work, but rather smoke that has been transported here from the wildfires that are currently happening just north of us in Canada

A smoke advisory is currently in effect for most parts of Colorado. The wildfire smoke advisory was originally issued by The Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment on Monday night and according to a recent update on Tuesday afternoon, is expected to last through Wednesday.

Weather forecasters predict that the expected wind and rains, should help to lift the smoke out of the area.

If the smoke becomes thick in your neighborhood, public health officials recommend staying indoors to avoid any intake. The smoke can have very severe and negative impacts to those with asthma, heart disease, and respiratory illnesses, as well as to the very young and elderly. Officials also note that if visibility is less than five miles, the smoke has then at this point, reached levels considered to be unhealthy and those around should avoid exposure.
