There have been so many great country stars over the years who have continued to have big hits at an age when most people have wrapped up their careers. There are some artists that just find a way to fit in no matter what the musical landscape may be at the time. Here are a couple examples of that longevity.

It was on this date back in 2000 that Kenny Rogers hit number one with the heart touching hit "Buy Me a Rose". Kenny was 61 years old when that happened which made him the oldest country star to ever hit number one. Until...

...the year 2003 came along and Toby Keith enlisted Willie Nelson to do a duet with him called "Beer for My Horses". That duet went all the way to number one. Willie Nelson was 70 at the time making him the oldest to hit number one. I give them both credit for showing that a great artist and a great song are timeless.
