Which Colorado County Has the Highest STD Rates?

Sexually transmitted diseases are a problem no matter where you are in the country. However, some areas have higher rates than others, and Colorado is no exception to the STD rule.

HealthGrove.com broke down the highest STD rates with a nifty little map showing chlamydia and gonorrhea ratios per county.

Among Larimer County's 305,798 population, 334.6 people per 100,000 individuals have chlamydia, and only 14.5 people per 100,000 have gonorrhea. Whew!

Meanwhile in Weld County, of its 258,780 population, 342.4 per 100,000 people have chlamydia, and 25 per 100,000 have gonorrhea. Yikes!

Luckily, Weld and Larimer counties do NOT have the highest STD rates in the state. 

Denver County not only has the highest STD rates in the state of Colorado, but it is also number 21 for highest STD rates in the United States. For every 100,000 people in its 619,297 population, 862 individuals have chlamydia, and 172 have gonorrhea.

So while STDs are definitely a problem, at least Northern Colorado doesn't have it as bad as Denver. Just stay away from swiping right in Denver, and you'll be safe!
