When Did You Last Write a Letter?

I thank my mother for instilling letter writing in my brain, not an e-mail or text, but an honest to goodness letter written on paper and mailed with a stamp. I remember writing to my aunt, sharing the adventures of my world, and she would reply with a sort of laundry list of her comings and goings and involvement in all organizations in the community. It’s my hope to be more engaging as I now write to my niece. My pen pal lives in Ogallala, Nebraska. Addie is 12 and actually my niece’s daughter. Addie and I are the only two living members of our clan who got the ‘horse gene’. She get’s to come stay
with me over Labor Day weekend and we play SO hard. This picture is Addie on an 18-month-old filly in my barn…that’s GUTS!

Here she is sleeping in my barn with her little sister:

And here she is riding one of my mares:
What fun to open a letter from a kindred spirit, we tell each other important stuff like she hooked up the horses to the sled and they pulled her around ALL this snow we’ve been happily getting, Her letter included this line,:”I’m praying for you, but in a good way…”
I look forward to replying. With Love, Aunt Susie
