Dolly Parton first started hitting the country music charts back in the late 1960's. She topped the charts for the first time in 1970 with the hit 'Joshua' and would do that again many many times. It wasn't until 1978 that Dolly had her first gold single though. A gold single means that the single alone sold at least 500,000 copies. Dolly first achieved that milestone with the smash 'Here You Come Again'.

Dolly was on fire in the late 70's and early 80's. It was during this run of success that she did the movie '9 to 5' and had a string of number one hits including the legendary 'I Will Always Love You' and many more.

Here is what was playing on just about every radio station, no matter what format it was, in 1978. Get your bell bottoms on and take a trip back with me.
