What Makes a REAL Woman, According to Susan

This meme speaks volumes on the caliber of my ‘girl’ friends on Facebook. We are so strong, and yet recent studies show the gender wage gap for working women of all ages was 82%. Now that’s enough to just tick a gal off, but we DEAL WITH IT. Most all of my friends have jobs, raise children, manage a home and know at least 12 ways to tie a knot with twine.
When work is complete, I power up at home. Honestly, pulling up my driveway and hearing the horses nicker their welcome reinvigorates my day, every day. I put on work boots and get out to the barn to be with the most honest of creatures. They let me know they want to be fed, cared for, loved, and in return they confirm that anything I do in ‘our’ world is just A OK.
This picture shows my own invention of a gate latch that can be opened with one hand, while holding 4 buckets of feed in the other. Never underestimate the power of twine and ingenuity.
A REAL woman ALWAYS has a cold beer on hand. .
A REAL woman has her own tools and knows how to use them. We carry a pocket knife next to our lipstick, we use a manure fork with a vengeance, and can reposition a 15 foot pole with a lawn tractor and of course, twine. Here are some of my prized tools: The Golden A-5 clipper, remote to the Bose, and horse brush.
Real women can haul stuff….from kids to hay!
Real women love without boundaries. We take care of those we cherish and fall into bed exhausted each night with a prayer that we can do it all again tomorrow.
Real women have the responsibility of reminding men how lucky they are to have US!
