What Eddie Rabbitt Classic Topped The Charts In 1981?

I have always been an Eddie Rabbitt fan. I have always felt he was one of the most unappreciated artists of his time. He started as a writer who penned the Elvis hit “Kentucky Rain”. He then went on to a string of hits including “Every Which Way But Loose”, “Suspicions”, “Drivin’ My Life Away” and many, many others.
Although his list of huge hits is long he is probably best known for his 1981 classic “I Love A Rainy Night”. That song was the number hit on the country charts back on this date in 81. We lost Eddie to cancer in May of 1998. Let’s take a trip back and enjoy that rainy night together. Thanks for the music Eddie.
Here’s another Rabbitt favorite of mine.
Here’s Tim McGraw covering the same Eddie hit.
