Cases of West Nile disease have been increasing in Larimer County. As of Friday, there were 12 human cases reported, including 4 severe cases, 3 from the Fort Collins area and one from the Loveland area. The more serious cases include meningitis, encephalitis, and paralysis. Case reports are expected to continue to rise from infections that have already occurred but have not yet been diagnosed or reported. 17 cases have been reported in Colorado so far this summer.
