An oil tank fire sent three workers to to hospital over the weekend.  Late Saturday night, the Weld County Sheriff’s Office was called to an oil tank battery fire near Highway 14 and weld County Road 83 east of Briggsdale. According to a news release, the fire is believed to have been started during routine maintenance operations.

Three crew members were injured during the incident. Two of the crew members had minor injuries and were taken by ambulance to North Colorado Medical Center in Greeley. The third crew member was airlifted to NCMC with severe burns.

A group of tanks that are connected to receive crude oil production from a well or a producing lease. A tank battery is also called a battery.
