The Weld County 4-H Livestock Judging team has won the state championship that took place at Colorado State University last week during the Colorado State 4-H Livestock Judging Contest.  This win qualifies them for a national competition later this year.

Team members included:

  • Jenna Frink of Eaton
  • Bo Naibauer of Eaton
  • Ashlyn Ochsner of Kersey
  • Austin Reitzenstein of Kersey
  • Alternate Jake Patton of Frederick.

The team was coached by Steve Gabel of Galeton and Christie Gabel of Eaton.

They placed high team overall in hogs, sheep & goats, cattle and reasons.Individually, Jenna Frink was second overall, Austin Reitzenstein was third overall, and Ashlyn Ochsner was 7th overall.

The team’s next step will be to participate at the National 4-HLivestock Judging competition,  in Louisville, KY., on November 15, 2016.
