The staff at Pawnee National Grassland is looking for volunteers to help with pulling weeds at the Baker Draw Designated Shooting Area on the morning of June 29. Successful weed treatments were previously done at this site earlier in the year and this pulling event will help reinforce those efforts in a different area of the location. Following pulling, the staff will also do some herbicide treatments.

Volunteers are asked to meet at the site at 8:30 a.m., wearing long sleeves, pants, boots, and gloves. Those lending their time will be hand pulling and digging out weeds, then bagging them until 11:30 a.m. Don't forget about bringing sunscreen and water too, as it can get very hot under the sun on the grassland. The shooting area will be temporarily closed from 8 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. If you are interested in volunteering, please RSVP to Stephanie Bar at barr02@fs.fed.us. The Baker Draw Designated Shooting Area is located on County Road 96 in Ault.
