Few artists respect their roots, the history of country music and those who created it, more than Vince Gill. He has always given credit to Flatt and Scruggs, Willie, Buck, Jones and Haggard along with the rest of the legends for the body of work they gave us. Vince is and always has been pure class.

There is no question what Merle Haggard meant to Vince. He was inspired by the man and his music and certainly was pained by the recent loss of one of his heroes. Vince recently took to the stage at the Grand Ole Opry to perform a song he wrote in tribute to the fallen troubadour.
