We need to pay more attention and give more thanks to our senior citizens. They tend to be the forgotten ones and that is not right. We all worry about our kids and our spouses and friends but tend to forget about the ones who opened all the doors for us. They are still here, still have plenty to offer and they need and deserve our time, love and energy.

Imagine being in your later years and having no one come to visit you. You try to find ways to occupy your time and mind but a visit from someone would be the best medicine money could buy. You may not have an elderly relative close by but there are plenty of elderly people who have no relatives close by also. That is the perfect match. Donate some time and go visit some folks. Do you have talent you could share? Set up a time and go do it. There are great stories to hear and lives that you can touch. They deserve love and smiles in the later years and we can take the time to provide them.

Todd, Susan and I have decided we are going to go out to nursing homes, senior centers or retirement villages once a month and spend some time chatting and entertaining folks. I cannot wait to get started. If you have some ideas of where we should visit please drop me a line and let me know.

I watched this video the other day and it totally hit my heart. It made me want to get out there and start this program. Take a few minutes and watch the story of Ms. Mary Tony and you will want to hug her. You too will want to help and make a difference. You will see it really doesn't take much to be a shining light in the world of someone who deserves you.
