I received a message from Charley Barnes to call him this morning around 9 for an update on the ride. Charley and our buddy Mike have been on their 10,000 mile in 10 day endurance ride for Honor Flight Northern Colorado. I know there have been some obstacles along the way, as you can expect on a 10,000 mile journey, and we will find out the latest from Charley himself around 9 this morning.

I told Charley before he left that if he makes it, great, if he doesn't, he has still raised awareness and money for our vets and that is the most important thing. I am hoping all is still on track but fear there may be some mechanical issues coming into play. We will get the latest later on this morning. We all just want Charley and Mike safe. That is the number one priority. Fingers crossed for good news. I will fill you in at 9 when I call Charley who is holed up in Canada.

UPDATE...Just got off the phone with Charley. His bike went down late last night. They are stranded in Dease Lake, BC, Canada. He has found a mechanic and they are going to see if they can do a quick fix on his bike. If it is an easy fix, he can be back on the road in a couple hours and try to make up the lost time. If they can fix it, the goal of 10,000 miles in 10 days is still possible but will take a superhuman effort. If there are two guys who can pull that off it is Charley and Mike. He asked that we pray for physical and mental health and that the mechanic can figure out the bike problem. They have not thrown in the towel. Everything depends on the next couple hours. I will keep you posted.
