UPDATE:

Fort Collins Police issued a statement Thursday afternoon (October 19, 2017) regarding Thursday morning's shooting. Four people were shot in the incident, three of those persons are dead. They believe one of the deceased was the suspect in the incident. One of the victims was a CSU student.

Fort Collins Police Services is investigating a shooting that left three people deceased and one injured at 720 City Park Ave.

On October 19, 2017 at 1:57 a.m., Fort Collins Police responded to a call of multiple shots fired near 720 City Park Ave. When officers arrived, they discovered four people with gunshot wounds, one of whom is believed to be the suspect. Preliminary information indicates that the suspect was known to at least one of the victims.

The identity of all of the deceased individuals will be released by the Larimer County Coroner’s Office at a later time. One of the deceased victims was a student at Colorado State University. The other three people are not affiliated with CSU. The facts surrounding this case continue to be investigated, and more information will be released as it becomes available.

Police will be at the scene for an extended period of time investigating the incident. In the early morning hours in Fort Collins, shots rang out at 720 City Park Avenue, just west of the CSU campus. Fort Collins Police Services are now saying that the incident is being investigated as a homicide.

Fort Collins Police Services spokesman, Matt Johnson said in a video statement that "there were four people involved in the incident. The victims include parties who are both deceased and injured."

At 2:35 a.m., Colorado State University police posted an alert with a description of the suspect and asking that people stay inside and call 911 if anyone spots the suspect. He was described at the time as a white male in his 20's, 5'8" wearing a green shirt with short, curly blonde hair.

At 4:50 a.m., CSU police posted an update saying that the area is "all clear" and that Fort Collins Police Services is no longer looking for a suspect related to the shooting.

Officer Johnson also said in his video statement that police do not believe there is an ongoing threat to the community related to this incident.
