An update to the Cheyenne, WY woman who agreed to surrender 53 dogs to authorities after being accused of animal hoarding.

As The Denver Channel reported, this happens to be the former daughter-in-law of the late actor Gregory Peck.  She has been advised of animal cruelty charges she faces in Colorado.

Kimi Peck appeared briefly in a Weld County courtroom Tuesday but did not enter a plea. She has been charged with a misdemeanor count of animal cruelty in May.  The 64-year-old had previously had large numbers of animals removed from her care in other states.

Three days before her arrest, Peck did voluntarily surrender 53 dogs she had been transporting in a trailer in Cheyenne, Wyoming.

Previously in 2010, Peck had been fined $5,000 in California, for running a kennel without a permit. Authorities said she kept more than 170 dogs in a home.
