The teenager in Greeley accused of punching two teachers has been suspended and could face assault charges.

The school district says the 16-year-old boy got angry Monday when a teacher told him to remove his hat. It’s against school policy to wear hats at Greeley Central High School.

The teacher removed the boy’s hat and the student punched him at least three times. A second teacher tried to intervene and was also hit. The teachers did not suffer and major injuries

A Greeley Central High School student is accused of assaulting two teachers yesterday morning. According to the Greeley Tribune, the alleged incident occurred about 11:30 a.m. on Monday.

Apparently, the student in got into an argument with two of his teachers. He allegedly punched one of them in the stomach and the second in the area of the head and the neck.

It would be up to the teachers to decide whether or not to press charges. The boy also faces a lengthy suspension from school, if not expulsion. The name of the student also is being withheld pending an ongoing investigation and the likelihood that he is a minor.

The two teachers did not require medical attention and immediately went back to teaching after the incident.
