As we prep ourselves for the upcoming new year, we must first say goodbye to some of our favorite television shows that won't be joining us in 2015.

2014 was jam-packed with TV drama, epic season finales, and final farewells, from some of our favorite talk show hosts and motorcycle outlaws, to members of sitcom families that we have laughed and cried along with over the years. Let's take a look back at some of the TV shows that we were most sad to see go.

    Sons of Anarchy

December 2014 was a time to say goodbye to our favorite bad boys of cable TV. In true "Sons" fashion, the ending was violent and bloody...but we won't spoil the rest if you're still catching up on Netflix.

    How I Met Your Mother

Since 2005 we have been tuning in to Ted's story about how he met the mother of his two children. The final episode of the long-running sitcom got mixed reviews and many felt that it was time for the series to be done, but we are sorry to see it go.

    Boardwalk Empire

HBO did an amazing job with this historically-themed series. With all of the talented actors involved, it's no wonder that after 5 seasons, it was still an award-winning show that received very high reviews.

    The Colbert Report

For nine years Stephen Colbert has delivered us the satirical, politically-focused news that we actually like tuning in to. In fact, it was once researched and reported that viewers of The Colbert Report were actually more educated on current events than those who only watched traditional news programs.

    Here Comes Honey Boo Boo

Sure, it wasn't the most quality TV show out there, but can we all agree that it was pretty entertaining to say the least? Viewers can thank the controversy caused by good ol' Mama June as to why this series came to an abrupt halt. Maybe TLC will do a spin off, There Goes Honey Boo Boo..
