Tuesday morning a 63-year-old man was trying to cross Elizabeth Street in a crosswalk when he was hit by a pick-up. A Fort Collins Police press release said they and Poudre Fire Authority found the man trapped under a GMC Sierra truck and extricated him.  He was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead. His identity will be released by the Larimer County Coroner’s Office once his next-of-kin have been notified.

The Fort Collins Police CRASH Team determined the victim had been crossing Elizabeth Street from north to south on foot when he was struck by the GMC truck, which was turning left from Patton Street to westbound Elizabeth Street. The driver of the GMC truck, Martha Bergland, 67, of Estes Park was not injured.
