Tribute to our Troops was created to honor our local military and to support Dan and Michelle Benavedez’s "Journey" to the American Military Family Honor Rally.  The Rally will be held in Marseilles, Illinois on June 15 and 16 of this year.  Located in Marseilles is the Middle East Conflict Memorial Wall; inscribed on the wall are the names of fallen heroes from the conflicts in the Middle East.

One of the names on the wall is that of Ssgt. Kennith Mayne of Arvada, Colorado.  Kennith’s parents, Dan and Michelle Benavidez, will launch their journey to see their son’s name on the memorial wall April 13th from Fort Carson, Colorado.  They will be making this journey traveling on foot, walking through the heartland of this great nation.

Their purpose in this "journey" is to raise awareness of the sacrifices made by our military and their families and to raise funds for the many programs offered by American Military Family. On this journey they will be joined by people walking one step, one block, one mile or the entire distance to the wall.  Through Colorado they will travel up Hwy 287 onto Nebraska, Iowa and Illinois.

Tribute to our Troops is a free, family event that is open to the public.  Local radio station K99 and radio personality Charley Barnes will be broadcasting live during the event that will also include a collection of cool cars, military displays, kids’ activities, martial arts demonstrations and giveaways.  A variety of Military and Veteran-related, non-profit organizations will also be in attendance.

A motorcade will escort Dan and Michelle through Loveland to the event at The Promenade Shops. The motorcade will travel from The Mexican Inn restaurant, located at 804 south Lincoln, traveling north on Lincoln/Hwy 34 and continuing east on Eisenhower Blvd/Hwy 34 to Centerra Parkway, ending at the Main Plaza of The Promenade Shops at Centerra.  Those interested is showing support by joining the motorcade with Dan and Michelle are asked to join them at The Mexican Inn at 11:30am.  {804 S Lincoln Ave Loveland, CO 80537}
