Tornado Touches Down in Southern Colorado
The National Weather Service reports that a rare fall tornado briefly touched down about 23 miles north of Colorado Springs yesterday.
The tornado was on the ground for less than a minute on Thursday but no damage has been reported. This is the first fall tornado for Douglas County since 1950.
A late season tornado is very rare for the entire Denver metro area. 9NEWS found only six September tornadoes in the last 62 years.
