Here's what you need to get your fishing license:

  • Fort Collins City Park Lake

This urban fishing location is full of rainbow trout, bluegill and crappies.

  • Big Thompson River

Set between Idlewilde and Olympus, and known as the Big-T, you can find finest wild rainbow trout.

  • Horsetooth Reservoir

At this location, you can fish for smallmouth bass and walleye from both the shore and from a boat.

  • St. Vrain State park

Located in Longmont, St. Vrain is a great place to go fishing with the family. Cast your line and catch rainbow trout, catfish, bass, perch and bluegill

  • Poudre River

The Poudre hosted the 2007 North America National Fly Fishing Championship. I don't think that would have happened if it wasn't a world class location to catch brown trout.

  • Rocky Mountain National Park

Knows as one of the best national park locations to fish for trout. Rocky Mountain National Park is the home of brow, brook, rainbow and cutthroat trout.
