Stroll Through Old Town Fort Collins

Restaurants, ice cream shops, coffee shops, unique gifts and fun stores, you'll always have a fun time when you walk around Old Town Fort Collins. Downtown Fort Collins is known nationally as a premiere destination and regional center for business and culture, and I'd ad for a fun afternoon or evening out! Downtown Fort Collins has numerous family-friendly events throughout the summer and the entire year too!

Take a Hike - Grey Rock, Poudre Canyon

There are a lot of great trails in and around Fort Collins. One of my favorites is Grey Rock Mountain, located in the Poudre Canyon just minutes west of Fort Collins. The hike is a moderate 7 mile round trip on a loop which leads through ponderosa pine and montane grassland to the summit with an awesome view of the plains, Fort Collins, and the Rocky Mountains! To reach the trail from Ted's Place at Hwy 287 and Hwy 14, drive about 9 miles west to a well-marked parking lot. You can't miss it. Oh, and take pictures!

    Go for a Bike Ride

Fort Collins is known as one of the best cycling towns in the United States. On a nice summer day in Fort Collins, there really isn't anything better than a nice bike ride around the city, up Horsetooth or just around the neighborhood. Fort Collins City Council recently adoptedthe Bicycle Safety Education Plan (BSEP) to encourage safer cycling.

    Visit a Dog Park

There are several dog parks in Fort Collins and I like them all. One of my favorites (and my Beagle Jasmine's) is at Spring Canyon Community Park in west Fort Collins! Located on the very west end of Horsetooth Road, just west of Taft Hill, you’ll find a playground, tennis courts, awesome trails, and the best (and biggest) dog park in Fort Collins! Does your dog like to swim? There is a pond located inside the huge dog park just for the swimmers and plenty of areas to run and play.
